Who Are we
We are Lay Cistercians scattered throughout the United States. We are ordinary men and women following the Cistercian Way of Life.
- While we are not monks or nuns, we follow the Rule of St. Benedict and the teachings of the Cistercian fathers to inspire and guide us in our daily lives.
Our community, Lay Contemplative Associates, is affiliated with the Cistercian/Trappist Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, Georgia near the city of Atlanta. As our membership is scattered, we communicate via email and ZOOM, plus we encourage everyone to gather together each fall for a few days of renewal at the monastery. (Left photo: a few of us.)
